Growatt MIN: what to prepare before calling service, and inverter care

  1. You may be advised to contact Growatt in some situation, please provide the following information[1]
  2. Information concerning the inverter: Serial number; Model number; Error message on OLED; Short description of the problem; Grid voltage; DC input voltage[2]
  3. Can you reproduce the failure? If yes, how? Has this problem occurred in the past? What was the ambient condition when the problem occurred?[3]
  4. Information concerning the PV panels: manufacturer name and model number, output power, Voc, Vmp, Imp, number of panels in each string[4]
  5. If the inverter is dirty, turn-off the AC breaker and DC switch, waiting the inverter shut down, then clean the enclosure lid, the display, and the LEDs using only a wet cloth[5]
  6. Do not use any cleaning agents (e.g. solvents or abrasives)[6]
  7. If the inverter regularly reduces its output power due to high temperature, please improve the heat dissipation condition. Maybe you need to clean the heat sink.[7]
  8. Check for externally visible damage and discoloration of the DC Disconnect and the cables at regular intervals; if damaged or discolored, contact the installer[8]
  9. Once a year, turn the rotary switch of the DC Disconnect from On to Off 5 times in succession – cleans the contacts and prolongs electrical endurance[9]
