Alarm 2016String Short-Circuited
Name in the manufacturer's documentation (fault list): String Short-Circuited
[1]
In plain words (editorial)
A PV string is short-circuited – the manual names abnormal string cable insulation or a short-circuited cable. The manual warns not to operate the DC switch or PV connectors while there is sunlight – this is work for an installer.
When to call a service technician: Have an installer check the string cables. If the fault persists after the string is repaired, contact Huawei technical support.

For technicians
Possible causes (source text)
- The string cable insulation is abnormal or the cable is short-circuited.[2]
Steps given by the manufacturer (source text)
- Do not operate the dc switch or pv connectors of the inverter when solar irradiance is available. when solar irradiance is unavailable and the pv string current decreases to below 0.01 a, turn off the ac and dc switches. check whether the insulation between the cables of the faulty pv string or between the cables and the ground is abnormal. if yes, rectify the fault. note that the preceding operations must be performed on the same day.[3]
- If the device fault persists after the pv string fault is rectified, contact your vendor or technical support.[4]
⚠ Work on refrigerant circuits, mains electricity and PV DC wiring is for qualified technicians only.
