How to switch off and restart a Growatt MOD inverter (including after Error 200)

“Error 200” means an arc fault (AFCI) – it can only be reset manually after the cause is fixed. Switch DC and AC off, wait for the screen to go dark, have the strings checked, then restart.

  1. If an Error 200 message is displayed, the buzzer alarms, an electric arc occurred in the PV system. The AFCI has tripped and the inverter is in permanent shutdown[1]
  2. A tripped AFCI can only be reset manually[2]
  3. Turn the DC & AC Switch to position OFF[3]
  4. Wait for the screen be off[4]
  5. Perform troubleshooting on the PV system: check the PV strings' open circuit voltage is normal or not[5]
  6. After the fault is rectified, restart the inverter: turn the DC & AC Switch to position ON[6]
  7. Do not work on the product during operation[7]
  8. Do not deactivate the AFCI permanently[8]
  9. Close the circuit breaker between the inverter and the grid; the inverter starts a countdown to the self-check and then connects to the grid[9]
  10. In normal operation the inverter indicator turns green[10]
