Vaillant aroTHERM plus: how to check the water pressure (M32, F.22, F.723)

Summary (editorial)

The manual explains how to read the heating circuit pressure and what the related messages mean.

✎ editorial – written from the cited sources, not a manufacturer statement. Status: draft.

From the manufacturer's documentation (English source wording, with page)

  1. The filling pressure must be between 0.1 MPa and 0.15 MPa (1.0 bar and 1.5 bar) when the heating installation is cold[1]
  2. If the heating installation extends over several storeys, a higher filling pressure may be required; ask a competent person[2]
  3. If the pressure falls below 0.07 MPa (0.7 bar), message M32 appears; above 0.07 MPa it goes out[3]
  4. If the filling pressure falls below 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar) for longer than one minute, fault message F.22 and the current filling pressure appear alternately[4]
  5. Use Menu → Live monitor → Water pressure to display the filling pressure[5]
  6. If the pressure drops frequently, identify and eliminate the reason for the pressure loss; inform a competent person[6]
  7. F.723 building circuit pressure too low: heat pump switched off automatically; inform your competent person so that he can top up the heating water[7]
  8. An annual inspection by a competent person is a prerequisite for permanent readiness and safe operation[8]

⚠ Work on refrigerant circuits, mains electricity and PV DC wiring is for qualified technicians only.
